Yang Yoga

Yang yoga is a new term for my students, but these classes will be very similar to the previous hatha yoga classes. Yin and Yang are relative terms. Yoga is a journey, a reflection of the journey of our own lives. Life is always changing and flowing. The art of living is to keep flowing and moving with the different currents. My recent studies with Paul Grilley have taught me that there is no such thing as a “perfect pose”. Every bone in every body is different. What may be beneficial to one body may be impossible, or even detrimental, for another body. For me, it means unlearning the “one fits all” Iyengar based alignments cues I so eagerly followed for many years, and learning to look closely at the different skeletabilities in my classes.

A typical class consists of a short meditation, sun salutations and a warming flow of asanas. A guided relaxation at the end of each class (Savasana) helps to integrate the benefits of our practice.
