Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa classes flow from one pose to the next, with the breath as the link between each movement. Contrary to Hatha Yoga, the teacher leading a Vinyasa class has no time to stop to talk about the finer points of each pose, as poses are usually only held for a few breaths. That way, students come away with a good workout as well as a yoga experience.

If you are new to yoga, I would advise you to first take a few Hatha classes to get a feel for the asanas. I have seen too many beginners trying to get into poses without a clue about correct alignment, thus opening themselves to all kinds of injuries.
