The asanas (postures) work deeply and increase circulation throughout the body, and the organs receive a gentle massage through which digestive health is improved. The specific deep breathing during the asanas delivers extra oxygen to improve circulation and calm the mind, making one more alert and focused.
A guided relaxation at the end of each class (Savasana) helps the whole body to integrate the benefits of the physical practice. One feels completely re-energised, but calm after the class.
